There is a disgrace flying around the Welsh blogosphere today, with nutty nationalist starting a petition against the investiture of the next Prince of Wales. I just don't understand it. First of all, I'm sure Charles will remain Prince of Wales for a while longer. Secondly, to reject the publicity and pageantry of such a ceremony will only damage Wales. An investiture ceremony will complement devolution.
Republicans! They still can't come up with a decent argument as to why the monarchy should be abolished. I have blogged on this topic before.

It's an historical insult to Wales, full stop. I can never understand why people like yourself come over all misty-eyed and Tory-like when it comes to "pageantry". As for publicity??? Please!
As for coming up with "decent arguments" for abolishing the monarchy, firstly there are no rational arguments for keeping the monarchy, and secondly WALES HAS NO MONARCHY, ENGLAND DOES
