From Meryl Gravell, former Council and Independent group leader;
The Independent group on the council has largely stayed the same, which shows that when people see a good, independent candidate, without the trappings of a political party, they appreciate that.
The effect of the national climate on the Labour group, however, is very unfortunate as, working in coalition with them, we have taken Carmarthenshire forward and made it one of the best councils in Wales.
When we worked in coalition with Plaid previously, it was a very difficult time as they were controlled by Cardiff.
I will have to go back to the Independent group and we must consider what will work best for the future of the county.
When reading this I get a kinda sick feeling. She talks about the lack of trappings of a political party when a few weeks ago she said in the council chamber;
Some council members exhibit weakness and are prepared to listen to people out there.
The best result from this election would be to place this ignorant and tactless woman as far away from any power as possible.
